Isles Play a Perfect Road Game

The Islanders tallied once in the first and once in the second and once in the third. The Caps failed to tally at all. This game was a perfect example of what Caps fans have been seeing all season: the failure of the Caps to get enough shots. Vokoun made his 10th straight start. The Caps were 4/6 on the penalty kill, and 0/3 on the power play. This loss marks the first time the Caps have lost at home since the Flyers game where they lost 5-2 and in 2012. Vokoun stopped 25 of 28 shots for an 89.3% save percentage. The Caps walked away with only 17 shots; something the Caps have become used to.

The Caps get a chance to redeem themselves tomorrow though. They play the Habs in Montreal at 7:30 PM EST. Oh, and Bourque (you know, the guy who damaged Nick Backstrom) will be present, so maybe that will encourage the Caps just a little bit. We should expect Neuvirth to be in the crease, but who knows.

I should be benched for that effort.
