Preview: Winnipeg Jets Vs Washington Capitals March 23rd, 2012

Tonight the Winnipeg Jets visit the hockey capital for an important contest in the finale of the season series. Braden Holtby figures to be the starter but Dale Hunter has been quiet about it. “You know, I never know who I want to start, you know? Sometimes you just have to know but right now I don’t know, you know?” Hunter told reporters. If Michael Neuvirth gets the start expect 3 or more goals, but if holtby starts I’d guess 2.

Notes:

  • Mike Knuble (@MikeKnuble22) stopped following his best buddy Tomas Vokoun (@TomasVokoun29) before last nights game in Filthadelphia. While it is debatable that Mike Knuble may have cost the caps the game yesterday (and maybe season) with this decision, we will have to wait and see. An article on this to come.
  • Poke Czech writer (Will Hussar @PokeCzcech30) went on a drinking binge yesterday and said incredibly homophobic comments. We apologize to the Vancouver Casucks and Sean Avery (But they do suck on the ice, where they can play if they know how to play or something

Predictions:

  • Ovechkin, Knuble and Laich will all score goals (In that order).
  • Joel Ward will be scratched with an injury. #FreeJoelWard
  • Holtby will be brilliant if he get the start for the Caps, Paveloc will give the Jets a chance but ultimately fail (just like the history of hockey in Winnipeg).
  • Caps fans will give it hard to the Jets team tonight for the verbal and physical attacks on Ovechkin  in Winnipeg a few weeks ago.
  • Caps will win 4-2 with an empty net goal in the final minute.
